ATTENTION CHANDLER RESIDENTS

The city of Chandler Bond Election is coming up May 15, 2007, and question 10 deals with the proposed Airport Runway Expansion.  Despite their plans to build a new facility at the Chandler Airpark, Covance claims the company does not own any jets and will not fly their animal inventory in by plane.  However, city Economic Development Specialist Christine Mackay contradicts this claim and reveals that Covance executives do indeed own private jets:



 







        Following is a list of Chandler aircraft crashes that occurred in 2006 alone:

• December 21, a Cessna 152 experienced a loss of engine power during cruise and made a forced
   landing in a farm field southwest of Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD). The nose landing gear 
   collapsed and the airplane flipped over.

• December 10, an experimental Special-Light Sport Aircraft impacted terrain near Chandler. The
   flight was departing CHD.

• October 18, a Morrisey 2150A airplane, impacted terrain sustaining substantial damage during a
   forced landing near Stellar Airpark due to a loss of engine power. The flight originated from CHD.

• October 15, an airplane veered off the runway and nosed over when the landing gear failed on
   touchdown.

• September 18, an airplane veered off the runway and impacted a parked airplane on the ramp.

• June 10, an airplane collided with terrain during attempted takeoff.

• April 22, an airplane ground looped due to pilot error upon encountering wind gusts during the
   landing rollout.
